In college, there are more important things to worry about than what you are going to wear day to day. This was the hardest thing to adjust to coming from an all girls Catholic school where you wore the same thing everyday. Being a second year, I've come to coin my everyday college "uniform"…
Especially in the fall, there are three curtail things that I need for my quote unquote uniform: jacket, jewelry, shoes. Not that I'm saying pants and shirts aren't important (because they are), but you can get away with simple jeans and a plain colored t-shirt. But, if you are like me and need a good pattern, go for stripes (they're a-okay in the fall too).
When it comes to jackets, army green is simply a must. It will never go out of style, and it goes with everything (on occasion, I even wear mine with leggings and a t-shirt). My choice army green jacket is from Madewell, but you don't have to go above and beyond in the price department to obtain one of these gems. American Eagle, Target, J. Crew, and H&M are all good options.
Jewelry is often something that is overlooked when it comes to getting dressed for class. Putting on more than earrings for bio? As if. But sometimes an outfit needs that extra little umph that jewelry adds. Almost all of my statement necklaces are from Target and they've all cost under $11 each. I have a J. Crew knock-off flower necklace (you know what I'm talking about) that I got from Target over the summer for a fraction of the J. Crew price.
Shoes can be as simple as flats when it comes to a casual classy look, but you need to have the right ones. If you end up with the wrong pair of flats, you'll end up with bandaids all over your feet at the end of the day. Look ahead at your schedule to see how much walking you'll be doing before toy decide to put on a cute pair of flats. Otherwise, white Keds or Bean Boots are always a great option to any outfit.
By no means am I saying this is the only way to dress for class (half the time you can see me running around in tennis shoes and a sorority sweatshirt), but it's good to have a few go-to outfits that are comfy and classy without taking three hours to get ready in the morning.
